This Month’s Book
July’s book is Heart the Lover by Lily King.
This one is a literary love story full of memory, longing, friendship, first love, and the kind of emotional mess that makes for a very good book club discussion. It follows the way certain people, choices, and relationships can echo long after they first enter your life.
Whether you loved it, had complicated feelings, cried a little, or just want to hear everyone else’s take, you are welcome here.
Potluck Theme
Our optional potluck theme for July is Christmas in July.
Bring something festive, nostalgic, cozy, summery, or holiday-adjacent to share if you want to join in. Think cookies, dips, snack boards, Christmas-colored treats, summer-friendly holiday bites, or anything that feels like December crashed into Florida in July.
Potluck participation is totally optional. You are more than welcome to come empty-handed.
How to Join
Books and Brews is casual, welcoming, and very low pressure.
You do not have to finish the book to come.
You can come solo.
You can bring a plus one.
You can mostly listen.
You can absolutely have strong opinions about fictional people making questionable choices.
Please join the Books and Brews Facebook group so you can comment what you’re bringing, help avoid duplicate potluck dishes, vote on future reads, and stay in the loop for upcoming meetups.
